It is hard to imagine we are only a few more weeks to Labor Day! We are still here in Singapore but soon back in Boston to get ready for the new academic year! We have been fortunate to be here during Singapore’s National Day this year, when the country celebrates 52 years of independence. Our kids had the chance to spend precious time with family and friends and also soaking in the local festivities!
I also had a chance to visit Crescent Girls’ School, a local public all-girls middle and high school, where I used to teach! It was great meeting up with the teachers colleagues whom I used to work together, and taking part in the school’s National Day celebration.
And you might asked what do Singaporeans do to celebrate National Day? Apart from parades and 3D droid fireworks, how about some Math? Here are some middle school questions surrounding Singapore (solutions included)!

Hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer fun before the busyness starts again!
